Mark Hoffman Appointed Co-Chair of The Licensing Executives Society St. Louis Chapter

Mark E. RYAN Clark awarded certified VALUATION ANALYST (CVA) DESIGNATION

Ryan J. Clark, MBA, CPA was recently an instructor on the Tax Implications of Licensing Intellectual Property at Washington University's School of Law, Spring 2004, Business Licensing Course.

 


 

Mark Hoffman Teaches IP Valuation at Washington University

Mark E. Hoffman, a Member of Hoffman Clark LLC, was a guest expert lecturer at Washington University for a Spring 2004 course entitled Management and Evaluation of Intellectual Property Assets. Mr. Hoffman taught classes on the topics: intellectual property valuation, determining licensing royalty rates, patent and trademarks valuation, and calculating patent infringement damages. These classes are part of Washington University's School of Law program in Intellectual Property and Technology Law. Mr. Hoffman has previously taught classes covering intellectual property valuation and the tax implications of licensing intellectual property for the Business Licensing Course at Washington University. Bryan Shaw is featured speaker on Construction Management and ACCOUNTING KNOWLEDGE

Bryan P. Shaw, CPA was recently a featured speaker at the Construction Industry Technician (CIT) certification class sponsored by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). Mr. Shaw addressed the CIT certification class on October 22, 2003, at the SPK offices in Maryland Heights, Missouri. His discussions included how companies can utilize specialized accounting knowledge and skills in expanded roles, such as: outsourced Chief Financial Officer and Controller functions, project monitoring, revenue stream investigations, cost studies and employee performance analysis, as well as through traditional services. Mr. Shaw holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with majors in Accounting and Management Information Systems, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) degree in Finance, from the University of Missouri – St. Louis (Honors Program).

 


 

Patent and Trademark Royalty Rate Review by Mark Hoffman

Mark E. Hoffman, a Member of Hoffman Clark LLC, presented a Patent and Trademark Royalty Rate Review for the Patent, Trademark & Copyright Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) at their downtown headquarters on June 10, 2003. The program addressed:

  • Sources for royalty rate data and information

  • An overview of royalty rate derivation techniques

  • Royalty rates for technology and brands

Mr. Hoffman holds a Master of Business Administration ( Mr. Hoffman is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Management Accountants, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Association of University Technology Managers, and the Licensing Executives Society.
